Design Program Manager

About the role

Everlaw is looking for its first dedicated Design Program Manager to set up the operating system for its growing product design team behind AI-powered litigation tools. The role brings structure, visibility and predictability to design work so designers can focus on craft and complex user workflows. It is a full-time, exempt position in the Oakland, CA office with a hybrid schedule (in the office M/W/Th, home on T/F).

Key responsibilities

• Own the design operating model for planning and delivery: how work is estimated, sequenced and handed off, keeping dependencies and timeline risks visible.
• Define design readiness criteria and coordinate pre-launch quality reviews for craft, responsiveness, accessibility and edge cases.
• Own the working interfaces between Design, Product Management, Engineering, User Research and Technical Writing, so scope, dependencies and conflicts have a standing answer.
• Build and champion lightweight design operations rhythms, frameworks and templates such as design briefs and critique structures.
• Manage design resourcing and bandwidth tracking to inform staffing decisions and help leadership plan team growth.
• Own how design work is reported to the business, building a reporting layer on capacity, throughput and readiness.

Required profile

• At least 5 years of experience in Design Program Management or Design Operations for product design teams in complex, enterprise B2B SaaS or data-heavy environments.
• Experience building and scaling lightweight design operations frameworks, delivery plans and resource tracking without stifling creativity.
• Strong communication and storytelling skills, able to turn design progress and trade-offs into business-relevant narratives for leadership.
• Understanding of user-centered design methodologies, modern UX workflows and tools like Figma.
• Experience with project tracking tools such as Jira or emerging AI tools (e.g., Cursor, Claude Design).
• Authorized to work in the United States; Everlaw does not sponsor F-1 visas including OPT.

• Expected salary range of $153,000 - $200,000, plus eligibility for equity.
