Design Manager, Airports/Aviation

About the role

Parsons is seeking a Design Manager for Airports/Aviation to lead design efforts at major U.S. airports in Florida. The role involves overseeing design consultants, ensuring compliance with codes, and delivering projects on schedule and budget.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor design consultant contract requirements and deliverables.
• Coordinate project governance, design presentations, and workshops with clients and stakeholders.
• Manage scope, submittal packages, and cost‑reduction initiatives to stay within budget.
• Facilitate RFI responses, design reviews, and constructability assessments.
• Document design issues in the client’s Document Control System and ensure resolution.
• Support sustainability planning, LEED tracking, and commissioning activities.
• Verify that all designs meet codes, regulatory, and environmental standards.
• Enforce the client’s CADD and BIM frameworks and policies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or Engineering (or higher).
• Minimum 15 years of experience managing airport design projects.
• Professional registration and licensure in Florida (or ability to obtain within six months).
• Proven ability to collaborate with airport authorities, community, and government stakeholders.
