DC Maintenance Technician - Forklift Repair

About the role

The Maintenance Technician - Forklift Repair ensures the safe, reliable and efficient operation of all powered industrial trucks in the facility. The role covers troubleshooting, diagnostics, preventive maintenance and repairs on forklifts and related material-handling equipment to minimize downtime and support warehouse and production operations. It reports to the Area Supervisor and typically involves less than 10% overnight travel.

Key responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair electric lift equipment, conveyor systems, and technical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic issues; understand and troubleshoot conveyor operating system logic (50%)
• Perform preventive maintenance and necessary modifications on electric lift equipment, conveyor systems and buildings (20%)
• Provide equipment status reports, including details of unusual maintenance problems (10%)
• Follow manufacturer, Home Depot and government safety guidelines, and adhere to safety codes and OSHA standards (10%)
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment, including daily cleanup of work areas (10%)

Required profile

• Aged 18 or older and legally permitted to work in the United States
• Trade school degree or equivalent in a related field, or equivalent knowledge, skills and abilities
• Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include weekends, evenings and holidays
• Physical ability to stand, walk and regularly lift or carry material of moderate weight (8-20 pounds)
• Exposure to temperature extremes, moving machinery, loud noise and fumes is typical

Required skills

• Experience working on industrial electric forklifts preferred
• Experience working with general engine parts
• Basic computer skills
• Mechanical inclination

Pay range for California, Colorado, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Nevada, New York City, Ithaca (NY), Westchester County (NY) and Washington residents: $27.00 - $39.00.
