DC Maintenance Supervisor - Forklift Technicians

About the role

The Home Depot is hiring a DC Maintenance Supervisor for its Sacramento FDC/BDC distribution center. The supervisor works with the Maintenance Manager to set strategies that maximize productivity and control expenses, oversees the maintenance of equipment and the facility, solves problems and typically manages a team of seven direct reports. The position reports to the Maintenance Manager.

Key responsibilities

• Coach, train and develop associates through formal and informal programs, give performance-based feedback and ensure technical certifications are maintained while keeping the workplace union-free.
• Maintain a safety culture by following safety policies, monitoring safety and physical security, and inspecting equipment and facilities regularly.
• Manage facility repairs, maintenance and installation, review contractor bids and select contractors who meet safety, schedule, budget and quality standards.
• Review maintenance, production and quality control reports and recommend cost-effective, safety-compliant changes to facility and equipment.

Required profile

• Age 18 or older and legally permitted to work in the United States.
• Education: associate's degree or equivalent in a related field; preferred: bachelor's degree.
• Experience: 2 years minimum, 3 preferred; 2+ years of leadership experience preferred.
• Flexible schedule including weekends, evenings and holidays; occasional overnight travel (5% to 20% of the time).
• Physical demands include intermittent periods of walking, standing, stooping, climbing and lifting, sometimes heavy or awkward loads.

Required skills

• Preferred: working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
• Preferred: industrial electric forklift experience.
• Preferred: facilities management concentration, cross-functional collaboration, change management experience.

Pay range for California, Colorado, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Nevada, New York City, Ithaca (NY), Westchester County (NY) and Washington residents: $65,000 - $80,000.
