Database Engineer – Infra Platform

About the role

The Database Engineer will support, implement, and maintain enterprise database platforms and cloud‑based data solutions for Invesco. You will work on both on‑premises and AWS environments, delivering secure, scalable, and reliable database services that meet business and application needs.

Key responsibilities

• Support and administer SQL Server and PostgreSQL environments, ensuring high availability, security, performance, and reliability.
• Assist with database migrations and modernization initiatives using AWS services such as RDS, Aurora, DynamoDB, DocumentDB, DMS, and SCT.
• Perform performance tuning, query optimization, schema changes, and troubleshooting.
• Automate monitoring, patching, and maintenance activities to improve system reliability.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, application, and security teams and participate in on‑call support as required.

Required profile

• 2‑4 years of experience supporting SQL Server and PostgreSQL databases.
• Knowledge of high‑availability and disaster‑recovery concepts (Always On, replication, backups, Aurora).
• Experience with AWS database services and migration tools.
• Proficiency in scripting/automation (PowerShell, Python, Terraform) and familiarity with DevOps practices (Git, IaC).
