Data Scientist

About the role

Claylabs is looking for a Data Scientist to join its Data Science and Analytics team. The role is embedded with a partner team (Product, Marketing, Sales, Finance, or Partnerships) and works as the primary data partner, shaping experiments, metrics, and predictive models that drive business decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Own causal inference and experimentation, designing experiments and building incrementality measurement when clean A/B tests aren’t possible.
• Define business measurement frameworks, shape metric trees, establish success criteria for product launches, and forecast impact.
• Build predictive models that focus the team on high‑impact opportunities.
• Investigate root‑cause anomalies, develop new analysis frameworks, and guide the organization on what to prioritize.
• Partner as an embedded expert, turning ambiguous strategic questions into rigorous, decision‑ready analysis for senior leaders.

Required profile

• 5+ years of data science experience with ownership of experimentation, causal inference, or predictive modeling.
• Strong product and business sense, with a track record of influencing product and revenue decisions.
• Deep statistical and experimentation expertise, including experiment design, effect estimation, and knowing when results are unreliable.
• Expertise in SQL and Python.
• Experience using AI tools such as Claude Code or Cursor to accelerate analytical work.
• Clear communicator able to influence senior stakeholders.
