Data Entry Clerk – Credentialing Expirables

About the role

The Data Entry Clerk supports the busy Medical Staff Credentialing Office at Albany Med by entering and auditing provider information related to credentialing expirables. Working closely with the Director, the role ensures accurate, confidential handling of sensitive health data.

Key responsibilities

• Enter data from medical records, licenses, and other forms into designated databases.
• Maintain organized filing and tracking systems for provider expirables.
• Review and audit reports for accuracy and completeness.
• Adhere strictly to HIPAA and NYS HIV Confidentiality laws.
• Communicate data entry issues to the supervisor and seek guidance when needed.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED required; equivalent experience may be considered.
• Experience with data entry and strong attention to detail.
• Excellent organizational and tracking abilities.
• Familiarity with medical terminology and confidentiality principles.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
