Data Engineer III

About the role

The Data Engineer III will join the COSMOS Research Center at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock to transform raw data into actionable insights. This full-time provisional position is funded by a grant and focuses on building robust data pipelines, improving data quality, and supporting analytics across research projects.

Key responsibilities

• Collect, manage, and convert raw datasets into structured formats for analysis.
• Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines and storage systems.
• Enhance data quality and processing efficiency through systematic improvements.
• Analyze trends, generate complex reports, and create algorithms and prototypes.
• Lead the development of social-media data collection pipelines, inference methods, and classification infrastructure.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience in data engineering and analytics.
• Proficiency in building and maintaining large-scale datasets and pipelines.
• Strong ability to interpret data trends and produce detailed analytical reports.
• Experience developing algorithms, prototypes, and classification methods, especially for social-media data.
