Postdoctoral Fellow – Socio‑Computational Modeling (COSMOS)

About the role

The COSMOS Research Center seeks a full‑time Postdoctoral Fellow to advance the scientific understanding of cyber campaigns on social media. The fellow will design and implement socio‑computational models that capture group formation, activation, decentralized decision‑making, and collective action dynamics.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and validate socio‑computational models of online cyber campaigns.
• Conduct cyber‑forensic analysis and deep‑web searches to collect open‑source data using guided snowball techniques.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary researchers to build predictive models of socio‑technical processes.
• Prepare technical reports, scholarly articles, and conference presentations.
• Maintain documentation of data pipelines and modeling workflows.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in Computer Science, Computational Social Science, Information Science, or a related field.
• Demonstrated experience in modeling social or communication processes.
• Strong publication record in relevant domains.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a research team.
