Data Engineer – Healthcare Data Platform

About the role

Join Eon’s growing team as a Data Engineer, designing and maintaining the data infrastructure that powers health platforms, products, and research. You will work with large‑scale healthcare data, including clinical records, claims, and real‑time patient monitoring streams.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain robust ETL/ELT pipelines for ingesting, transforming, and standardizing healthcare data from diverse sources (EHRs, wearables, claims, etc.).
• Ensure data quality, privacy, and compliance with healthcare regulations such as HIPAA and GDPR.
• Collaborate with product managers, data scientists, clinical experts, and software engineers to deliver data solutions supporting analytics and decision‑making.
• Develop and optimize cloud‑based data infrastructure and warehouses (e.g., AWS RDS, Snowflake).
• Maintain secure, scalable, and well‑documented data models for internal and external use.
• Monitor pipeline performance, troubleshoot issues, and continuously improve data reliability and availability.

Required profile

• 2–4 years of experience in a Data Engineering role, preferably in healthcare, biotech, or life sciences.
• Background supporting data needs for clinical research or healthcare analytics.
• Strong problem‑solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work collaboratively.

Required skills

• SQL and experience with large‑scale relational databases.
• Python (or similar language) for data engineering tasks.
• Real‑time data processing tools such as Airflow.
• Cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, or Azure) and data tools like dbt.
• Data modeling, data warehouse design, and integration patterns.
• Familiarity with BI tools (Looker, Tableau, Power BI).
• Knowledge of healthcare data standards (ICD‑10, CPT, FHIR, HL7) and compliance frameworks (HIPAA, SOC 2) is a plus.
