Data Analyst 3

About the role

The University of Miami/UHealth Department of Public Health seeks a full‑time Data Analyst 3 to serve as a senior research data systems specialist. The role supports complex, longitudinal, multi‑site epidemiologic and clinical studies, including large occupational health projects involving first responders.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, implement, and maintain sophisticated REDCap projects for multi‑arm, multi‑site studies.
• Develop and maintain REDCap API integrations, automated workflows, and mobile data collection using MyCap and the REDCap Mobile App.
• Create reproducible data pipelines in R and/or Python to extract, transform, and validate research data.
• Conduct data quality assessments, prepare analysis‑ready datasets, and support statistical programming for investigators.
• Document data dictionaries, SOPs, and technical specifications; ensure compliance with IRB, HIPAA, and data‑use agreements.

Required profile

• Advanced expertise in REDCap architecture, longitudinal project design, and automated workflows.
• Strong experience with R and/or Python for data processing and statistical analysis.
• Ability to collaborate with principal investigators, biostatisticians, epidemiologists, and research coordinators.
• Knowledge of data security, user rights, and compliance requirements in a research environment.
