CVICU Registered Nurse – Critical Care

About the role

The Cleveland Clinic Health System is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse for the Cardiovascular Surgery ICU (J55) on the Main Campus. This position provides direct patient care in a fast‑paced, critical care environment, supporting the mission to transform the patient experience.

Key responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols.
• Implement and monitor patient care plans, record and communicate patient conditions.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary care, execute physician and nursing orders, and assist with discharge planning.
• Maintain professional growth through ongoing education and clinical study.

Required profile

• Graduate from an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred.
• Current state RN licensure.
• Minimum two years recent related nursing experience (external applicants).
• Ability to work in a stressful environment with minimal supervision.

Required skills

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification (within one year of hire).
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification for NICU nurses.
• Chemo/Bio safety course (if assigned to chemotherapy units).
• Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) or Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC) for trauma center work.
