Curriculum & Assessment Specialist – Central Office (Decatur, GA)

About the role

The Curriculum & Assessment Specialist supports the Director of Curriculum & Assessment in shaping instructional quality across the state’s schools. This position leads curriculum planning, assessment coordination, and professional learning initiatives for teachers and administrators.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain collaborative relationships with community agencies, parents, students, and district staff.
• Support district and state assessments and integrate instructional technology through modeling, co‑teaching, and targeted feedback.
• Deliver virtual and job‑embedded professional learning opportunities.
• Mentor new teachers and share effective instructional resources.
• Participate in content team meetings to aid instructional planning.
• Assist in developing annual calendars for assessments, professional learning, and licensing exams.
• Collect, analyze, and review assessment data with superintendents, school leaders, and teachers to guide decisions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree with an endorsement in an academic content area (required).
• Master’s degree in Education, Curriculum and Instruction, or related field (preferred).
• Education Specialist or Doctoral degree (highly preferred).
• Strong background in program leadership and curriculum/assessment implementation.
