Instructor 3 – Educational Instructor

About the role

The Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities is seeking an Instructor 3 to provide educational instruction to individuals receiving services at Georgia Regional Hospital – Atlanta. This full‑time position works Monday‑Friday, 8:30 am‑5:00 pm, and supports the state’s mission to improve the lives of its citizens.

Key responsibilities

• Develop curriculum, lesson plans, and instructional materials tailored to the needs of service users.
• Deliver classroom and individualized instruction, adapting methods to diverse learning styles.
• Create and implement individualized instructional plans and monitor progress.
• Maintain accurate educational records, progress reports, and required documentation.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to align instructional activities with treatment goals.
• Ensure compliance with DBHDD, facility, and State of Georgia policies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
• Eligibility for or possession of a Georgia teacher’s associate professional fourth‑year certificate or a current fourth‑year teaching certificate in the assignment area.
• One year of experience at the lower‑level Instructor 2 (EDP021) or equivalent position.
