Cost & Value Engineer (CVE) – Industrial Group

About the role

Moog is seeking a Cost & Value Engineer (CVE) to join the Industrial Group Slip Ring and Marine team in Christiansburg, VA. The role focuses on maximizing product value while minimizing costs throughout the product life cycle, bridging technical engineering and financial viability.

Key responsibilities

• Apply CVE methodologies to identify and realize cost‑saving opportunities.
• Lead process and technology optimization at supplier sites.
• Support cost estimating teams and translate technical inputs into proposal cost data.
• Conduct concept evaluations, focusing on design‑for‑cost and design‑for‑assembly.
• Analyze historical data to ensure transparent and objective cost calculations.
• Collaborate with Procurement, Engineering, Finance, and Supplier Quality Management on strategic CVE topics.
• Communicate estimating results to pricing owners and executive leadership under tight deadlines.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Finance.
• Minimum of 3 years experience in a project‑oriented or manufacturing support role.
• Strong knowledge of engineering principles, mechanical drawings, and 3D models.
• Proven track record with bottom‑up cost calculations and cross‑functional project management.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills for executive reviews.
