About the role

The Coordinator Surgery Special Unit‑Taussig Administration ensures smooth admission and scheduling of pediatric and adult surgical procedures at Cleveland Clinic. Working closely with physicians and staff, the role prioritizes patient appointments and maximizes operating room utilization.

Key responsibilities

• Validate patient demographics, physician information, and insurance coverage to ensure accurate billing and scheduling.
• Tri­age appointments, coordinate intra‑ and inter‑departmental scheduling, and maintain provider calendars.
• Enter and update procedure details, CPT codes, and case information in the scheduling system.
• Communicate with patients, families, and multiple departments to provide instructions and expedite admissions.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or GED with at least two years of related experience in medical registration, billing, insurance processing, or OR scheduling.
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills with the ability to work independently in a fast‑paced environment.
• Ability to handle confidential information and maintain detailed, organized records.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Working knowledge of computerized appointment/OR scheduling systems and CPT/ICD coding.
• Familiarity with medical terminology and insurance processing.
