Cook (PRN/On-Call) – Food Services

About the role

We are seeking a reliable Cook to join our food services team on a PRN/on‑call basis. The role supports The Charmed Table’s mission to deliver nutritious, high‑quality meals to group homes and assisted‑living facilities in Baltimore.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and cook meals following recipes and nutritional guidelines, adapting for special diets such as diabetic, low‑sodium, and gluten‑free.
• Maintain food safety and cleanliness standards, ensuring compliance with health department regulations.
• Manage kitchen operations, including inventory control, ordering supplies, and minimizing waste.
• Deliver meals to designated sites within one hour of scheduled times, ensuring safe transport.
• Collaborate with kitchen staff, caregivers, and the dietary department to address resident preferences and dietary issues.
• Participate in audits, quality‑assurance activities, and regulatory compliance tasks as directed.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; culinary training a plus.
• Proven experience as a cook, preferably in assisted‑living, healthcare, or similar settings.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Required skills

• ServSafe Manager Certification.
• ServSafe Food Handler Certification.
• ServSafe Alcohol Awareness Certification.
• CPR and First Aid Certification.
• Valid Driver’s License.
