Consulting Utility Forester

About the role

ACRT, Inc. is looking for an experienced Consulting Utility Forester in Leesburg, FL, a full-time regular position suited to both entry-level and seasoned professionals. Foresters identify, inspect and evaluate trees and brush along utility lines, report findings to clients with recommendations, negotiate line-clearance crew access and act as a liaison between clients, tree crews and customers.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as a liaison between clients, tree crews and customer

Required profile

• 4-year degree in forestry, horticulture, environmental science or a closely related field, or 4 years of experience in utility vegetation management or a related field (e.g., right-of-way management, integrated vegetation management, nursery work, timber cutting)
• ISA Arborist certification preferred
• Self-motivated, organized and production-oriented, able to manage a geographical area independently
• Comfortable working in all weather conditions, in varied terrain and with flexible schedules including nights and weekends
• Valid driver's license required

Required skills

• Strong tree identification skills
• Competent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite
• Experience with GIS-integrated data collection software/hardware preferred but not required
• Excellent verbal and written communication and multi-tasking skills
