Construction Superintendent – Land Development & Homes

About the role

McBride Homes, a leading residential builder in the St. Louis metro area, is expanding its team of Construction Superintendents. The role oversees field operations for both large‑scale land development projects and home‑building divisions, ensuring projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and to the company’s high quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day field activities for residential developments, including clearing, earthwork, utility installations, stormwater compliance, and pavement construction.
• Coordinate with municipal agencies, vendors, and internal teams to maintain permits, budgets, and project timelines.
• Supervise multiple trades on home‑building sites, schedule work, monitor material availability, and resolve on‑site issues.
• Conduct daily site visits, track progress, and communicate status to corporate office, sales, and field staff.
• Assist in job‑cost tracking, budget adherence, and delivery of completed lots to the home‑building division.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, construction engineering, civil or structural engineering preferred.
• Strong understanding of building codes, construction practices, and utility installation processes.
• Comfortable using technology and construction management software.
• Proven ability to manage complex projects and multiple trades simultaneously.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook.
• Experience using construction management software.
