Construction Materials Coordinator

About the role

Gonzalez Companies is seeking a Construction Materials Coordinator to ensure that project sites receive the right materials at the right time. This position supports the successful execution of civil engineering projects by managing procurement, delivery, and inventory of construction supplies.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate with contractors to procure, deliver, and inventory construction materials for civil engineering projects.
• Track material usage and delivery schedules to guarantee timely availability on job sites.
• Collaborate with project managers, field staff, and procurement teams to forecast material needs.
• Review material specifications for compliance with project plans, codes, and standards.
• Maintain detailed records of material orders, receipts, and deliveries.
• Conduct regular site visits to monitor material storage, usage, and quality.
• Support QA/QC by ensuring material certifications and submittals are properly filed and approved.

Required profile

• IDOT Aggregate Technician or Mixture Aggregate Technician Certification.
• IDOT Portland Cement Concrete Levels I and II Certifications.
• IDOT Hot Mix Asphalt Levels I and II Certifications.
• IDOT S-33 Soils Certification.
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 3+ years of experience in materials coordination, procurement, or logistics within construction or engineering.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience using project management or ERP software such as Procore, Viewpoint, or Primavera.
• Strong organizational and computer skills with attention to detail.
