Construction Manager

About the role

The Construction Manager leads vertical construction projects and park/open‑space developments for a municipal agency. The role oversees the full project lifecycle, from planning and consultant selection through design, permitting, construction, inspection, and warranty administration.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate with consultants, city officials, and stakeholders to develop building, infrastructure, and open‑space projects.
• Issue work orders, verify invoices, and recommend payments for consultants, surveyors, and testing labs.
• Review plans and specifications for compliance with program requirements, design standards, and contracts.
• Monitor cost estimates, schedule meetings, and produce meeting reports.
• Manage bid advertisements, evaluate bids, and recommend contract awards.
• Issue Notices to Proceed, oversee pre‑construction meetings, and approve requisitions and invoices.
• Prepare field inspection reports, conduct site visits, and track construction progress.
• Generate change orders, maintain contingency records, and coordinate substantial completion inspections.
• Produce performance reports on contractors and consultants.

Required profile

• Ability to exercise independent judgment in architectural/engineering planning and construction management.
• Experience working under supervision from a professional and administrative superior.
• Strong organizational skills to manage multiple project phases and stakeholder communications.
