Composite Mold Maintenance Technician

About the role

Saronic Technologies seeks a skilled Mold Maintenance – Composites Technician to keep composite molds in optimal condition for high‑performance marine structures. You will ensure molds are clean, repaired, and ready for precise lay‑ups, directly influencing production quality and uptime.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect molds before and after use for wear, damage, or contamination.
• Perform cleaning, polishing, and surface preparation of mold tools.
• Repair surface imperfections, cracks, or flange damage using appropriate resins and fillers.
• Apply and maintain mold release systems (wax, semi‑permanent coatings, etc.).
• Track mold use cycles and support preventative maintenance schedules.
• Maintain mold storage systems and environmental controls.
• Assist with tooling modifications for engineering changes.
• Collaborate with lay‑up and finishing teams to resolve part release or alignment issues.
• Document maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections.
• Support scribing, dimpling, and installing flange monuments.

Required profile

• 2+ years hands‑on experience with composite molds in production or prototyping.
• U.S. Person (citizen or permanent resident) for DoD‑related work.
• Detail‑oriented with ability to maintain high‑gloss, tolerance‑critical surfaces.
• Comfortable using power tools, polishing equipment, and hand tools.
