Compliance Analyst

About the role

River is building a trusted financial institution focused on Bitcoin and is seeking a proactive Compliance Analyst to support its compliance, fraud, sanctions, and dispute programs. The role offers the chance to work directly with clients in a fast‑paced fintech environment.

Key responsibilities

• Support day‑to‑day operations of compliance, fraud, sanctions, complaints, and dispute programs.
• Use data analysis to identify risk trends and operational gaps.
• Own operational improvements to compliance tooling and workflows with a data‑driven approach.
• Collaborate with Product and Engineering to automate compliance operations.
• Execute and enhance compliance policies, procedures, and controls.
• Partner with Client Services and Finance for investigations and risk‑based resolutions.
• Conduct compliance outreach to clients while balancing regulatory requirements.
• Support regulatory examinations, audits, and legal inquiries.
• Report compliance program trends and developments to leadership.

Required profile

• Enthusiasm for a fast‑paced fintech environment and a collaborative attitude.
• Strong critical thinking and ability to make risk‑based decisions in ambiguous situations.
• Demonstrated experience in data analysis and risk management.
• Working knowledge of data analysis tools such as SQL.
• High personal initiative, reliability, and ability to prioritize competing deadlines.
• Resourceful problem‑solver with a creative approach.
• Ability to translate high‑level goals into clear operational processes.
• Willingness to learn, grow, and take on new challenges.
