About the role
This federal work‑study position supports Best Friends for Life (BFFL) in its mission to improve the lives of domestic cats and raise community awareness about animal welfare. It is ideal for students interested in nonprofit management, animal care, communications, or community outreach.
Key responsibilities
- Assist in planning, coordinating, and executing adoption drives, fundraising events, and community education activities.
- Support communication with volunteers, adopters, foster families, and partner organizations.
- Help organize service projects such as spay/neuter campaigns, donation drives, and awareness events.
- Track participation, enter data, and contribute to program documentation, evaluations, and reporting.
- Contribute to marketing efforts, including social media content, flyers, and outreach materials.
- Provide administrative and logistical support to ensure smooth program operations.
Required profile
- Enrolled at Texas A&M International University at least half‑time (6 credit hours for undergraduates, 3 for graduates).
- Maintain a GPA of 2.0 (undergraduate) or 3.0 (graduate).
- Current, complete file with the Office of Financial Aid and demonstrated financial need.
