Community Living Arrangements (CLA) Licensure Surveyor

About the role

The State of Georgia is seeking a Community Living Arrangements (CLA) Licensure Surveyor to conduct compliance surveys across the state. This remote position supports the Division of Strategy, Technology, and Performance by ensuring providers meet licensing standards for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of all rules and regulations governing CLA compliance.
• Plan, schedule, and execute statewide compliance surveys, traveling 60‑75% of the time.
• Evaluate provider adherence, identify deficiencies, and determine license eligibility.
• Prepare thorough, data‑driven reports that can withstand legal scrutiny.
• Collaborate with internal staff to keep survey instruments aligned with current policies and regulations.
• Provide technical assistance to providers regarding policy, rules, and licensing requirements.
• Enter survey data accurately into state databases and maintain records per state and federal law.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field with at least two years of relevant experience, or an Associate’s degree with three years of experience.
• Knowledge of Community Living Arrangement services and licensing processes.
• Experience working with individuals who have intellectual or developmental disabilities.
• Strong critical‑thinking abilities to assess risks to service recipients.
