About the role
The Georgia Department of Community Affairs seeks a Community Development & Planning Specialist to support its Community Development Team. The role focuses on delivering educational programs, outreach, and technical assistance to local governments across the state.
Key responsibilities
- Manage and deliver the Community Planning Institute, PlanFirst program, and Community Planning Success Stories initiatives.
- Serve as liaison between DCA staff and local government partners, coordinating workshops, training sessions and outreach activities.
Required profile
- Master’s degree in a related field (e.g., urban planning, public administration) and at least one year of relevant experience.
- Experience with comprehensive planning processes and familiarity with Georgia’s local government regulations.
Required skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel for data analysis.
- Strong writing and presentation abilities for public speaking and training sessions.
