About the role
The Commercial Review Appraiser independently engages qualified appraisers, determines appropriate valuation products, and reviews commercial and residential appraisals for compliance and credibility. This role supports the Bank's real estate valuation program and contributes to vendor management, policy development, and market analysis.
Key responsibilities
- Determine valuation product and scope based on collateral, risk, and regulatory requirements.
- Engage and manage qualified appraisers, monitor job pipeline, and ensure service level agreements are met.
- Independently review appraisals for credibility, compliance, and adequacy for credit decisions.
- Validate valuations, provide acceptance sign‑offs, and maintain appraisal independence per USPAP, FIRREA Title XI, and Interagency guidelines.
- Analyze market data and valuation trends, reporting findings to lending and credit teams.
- Contribute to vendor management, appraiser list governance, and policy enhancements.
- Support collateral services specialists and complete special projects related to portfolio, REO, and acquisitions.
Required profile
- Bachelor's degree.
- 5‑6 years of experience preparing or reviewing appraisals.
- 2‑3 years working within a bank appraisal department.
- Certified General or Residential Appraiser license in PA, NY, OH, or IN.
