Commercial Engineering Director – Chief of Staff

About the role

Mastercard is seeking a Commercial Engineering Director to act as Chief of Staff for the Head of Commercial Engineering within its fast‑growing Commercial and New Payment Flows (CNPF) unit. This senior partner will bridge engineering, product, finance and enterprise leadership, shaping strategy and stakeholder engagement across the business.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with the Head of Commercial Engineering to drive execution of strategic priorities across Engineering, Product, Finance, Legal and enterprise functions.
• Develop executive communications such as Monthly Business Reviews, governance materials and leadership messaging.
• Coordinate alignment between CNPF product areas and technical teams, resolving dependencies and ensuring cohesive priorities.
• Translate operational and delivery data into insights and recommendations for leadership decision‑making.
• Lead internal communications and employee engagement initiatives, including Townhalls, governance forums and newsletters.
• Own complex, ambiguous business problems, define approaches and deliver actionable recommendations.
• Represent the Head of Commercial Engineering in governance forums and cross‑functional meetings as needed.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a Chief of Staff, strategic operations, or senior business management role supporting executive leadership.
• Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities and anticipate senior team needs.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for CTO, CPO, CFO, EVP and SVP audiences.
• Strong analytical capability to interpret operational, delivery and workforce data.
