Commercial Counsel

About the role

Rogo is seeking a Commercial Counsel to partner with the Head of Legal and build the contracting function that supports rapid scaling. This high‑impact, business‑focused attorney will shape the legal infrastructure for a fast‑growing AI‑driven finance company.

Key responsibilities

• Advise internal stakeholders on legal issues and concepts.
• Lead end‑to‑end negotiations of high‑value MSAs and other commercial agreements with major banks and financial institutions.
• Negotiate data‑licensing, partnership, and content agreements with providers.
• Collaborate with Sales, Product, Security, and Operations to structure business‑aligned contracts and translate complex legal terms into clear guidance.
• Implement and manage commercial contracting infrastructure, including legal tech tools, negotiation templates, playbooks, and approval workflows.
• Support the Head of Legal on strategic, high‑impact initiatives.

Required profile

• Licensed to practice law in at least one jurisdiction.
• JD from a top law school with 3–6 years of experience, preferably from a top‑tier law firm (technology transactions, IP, emerging companies) or in‑house at a high‑growth SaaS, data, or AI company.
• Proven ability to own and close commercial agreements independently, with strong knowledge of IP licensing, privacy, data‑use rights, and AI.
• Experience implementing legal tech tools and building scalable processes from scratch.
• Genuine interest in new technologies, software, and finance, and comfort making decisions in a fast‑moving startup environment.
