Combat Skills Instructor

About the role

The Combat Skills Instructor will deliver comprehensive combat training to military personnel at Joint Base McGuire‑Dix‑Lakehurst, ensuring readiness for deployment in uncertain or hostile environments.

Key responsibilities

• Transport and use explosive training devices safely, following installation and range safety protocols.
• Complete USAF EOS training, including the Academic Instructors Course and certification for explosive device use.
• Act as Range Safety Officer, managing range cards and adhering to Ft. Dix Pamphlet 350‑3.
• Instruct and evaluate students on complex combat problems using established lesson plans.
• Maintain accurate instructional records and comply with Community College of the Air Force accreditation policies.
• Prepare classrooms and training ranges, ensuring all equipment is functional.
• Provide technical support, planning, and expert advice to improve instructional quality.

Required profile

• Associate degree or higher in any field.
• Prior military deployment experience in uncertain or hostile environments.
• Physical and mental capacity to instruct and qualify on Air Force small‑arms courses.
• Valid state driver’s license and ability to operate government‑furnished vehicles.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lb unassisted and operate in varied terrain and weather conditions.
