Combat Skills Instructor

About the role

The Combat Skills Instructor provides comprehensive combat‑skills training to Air Force personnel, ensuring they are prepared for deployment in uncertain or hostile environments. The role combines hands‑on explosives handling, small‑arms instruction, and range safety oversight to develop combat‑ready soldiers.

Key responsibilities

• Transport, set up, and safely use explosive training devices in compliance with all safety protocols.
• Complete USAF EOS training, including the Academic Instructors Course and certification for explosive device use.
• Act as Range Safety Officer, managing range operations per Ft. Dix Pamphlet 350‑3.
• Instruct and evaluate students on complex combat scenarios using established lesson plans.
• Maintain accurate instructional records and ensure compliance with Community College of the Air Force accreditation policies.
• Prepare classrooms and training ranges, ensuring all equipment is functional.
• Provide technical support, planning, and expert advice to improve instructional quality.

Required profile

• Associate degree or higher in any field.
• Prior military deployment experience in uncertain or hostile environments.
• Physical and mental capacity to qualify and maintain currency in Air Force small‑arms courses.
• Valid state driver’s license and ability to operate government‑furnished vehicles.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lb unassisted and work in varied terrain and weather.
