CMM Operator

About the role

We are seeking a diligent CMM Operator to join our HydraForce manufacturing team in Vernon Hills. The successful candidate will operate coordinate measuring machines, ensure accurate inspection of hydraulic components, and support continuous improvement of quality processes.

Key responsibilities

• Start up and shut down CMM equipment according to standard procedures.
• Qualify probes, run daily gauge studies, and set up Autorun inspection programs.
• Record and compile inspection data using company software.
• Review CMM results, document findings, and generate non‑conformance reports for out‑of‑spec parts.
• Interpret engineering drawings, work orders and GD&T specifications.
• Communicate inspection results with production and engineering teams.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment and follow housekeeping and safety regulations.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 1 year of experience in mechanical inspection within a manufacturing setting.
• Familiarity with CMM setup, controls and basic troubleshooting.
• Understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T) principles.

Required skills

• CMM operation and probe qualification.
• Use of inspection software and Autorun programs.
• Interpretation of engineering drawings and GD&T.
• Mechanical inspection techniques and quality‑control equipment.
