Clinical Technician – Coronary Intensive Care Unit

About the role

The Clinical Technician works in the 24‑bed Coronary Intensive Care Unit at Cleveland Clinic Main Campus, providing direct patient care to adults with high‑acuity cardiac conditions. The role involves day/night rotation and supports a multidisciplinary team delivering advanced cardiac therapies.

Key responsibilities

• Provide or assist with patient care under RN supervision, including vital signs, weight, and personal care.
• Perform point‑of‑care testing, dressing changes, apply external monitoring devices, and remove urinary Foley catheters.
• Report abnormal physical, mental, or emotional findings to the RN promptly.
• Maintain clean and orderly patient rooms and equipment.
• Assist with documentation and support of complex cardiac interventions.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA or Red Cross) obtained within the new‑hire period.
• Minimum one year of recent full‑time patient care experience (or equivalent military medical experience).
• Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting and standing for extended periods.

Required skills

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Proficiency in point‑of‑care testing and use of external cardiac monitoring devices.
