Clinical Technician – Coronary ICU (Night Shift)

About the role

The Clinical Technician works in the J3-1 Coronary Intensive Care Unit on the Cleveland Clinic Main Campus, providing direct patient care during night shifts. Reporting to a registered nurse, the technician helps create a safe, healing environment for patients with complex cardiac conditions.

Key responsibilities

• Take vital signs, weight, and perform point‑of‑care testing under RN supervision.
• Assist patients with personal care, dressing changes, application of monitoring devices, and removal of urinary Foley catheters.
• Report any abnormal physical, mental, or emotional findings to the RN promptly.
• Maintain clean and orderly patient rooms.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (American Heart Association or Red Cross) obtained upon hire or prior to hire.
• At least one year of recent full‑time patient‑care experience, or equivalent military medical experience.

Required skills

• Proficiency in taking vital signs and performing basic bedside assessments.
• Experience with point‑of‑care testing and applying external monitoring devices.
• Ability to perform dressing changes and manage urinary catheters.
