Clinical Technician – Cardiovascular ICU

About the role

The Cardiovascular and Vascular Intensive Care Units provide post‑operative acute care for patients after heart surgery and complex vascular procedures. This night‑shift position supports patients directly from the operating room through recovery, stabilization, and extubation.

Key responsibilities

• Take vital signs, weight, pulse oximetry and perform point‑of‑care testing.
• Assist patients with personal care, dressing changes, and apply/remove external monitoring devices.
• Remove urinary Foley catheters and help keep patient rooms clean and orderly.
• Report abnormal findings or changes in physical, mental, and emotional conditions to the supervising RN.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA or Red Cross) before or within the new‑hire period.
• One year of recent full‑time patient‑care experience, or equivalent nursing student clinical rotation, or military medical experience (Hospital Corpsman, Combat Medic, Medical Service Technician).
• Ability to perform medium physical work, including lifting patients and moving objects up to 100 lb.
