Clinical Nurse Manager - Oncology

About the role

Vista Oncology is hiring a Clinical Nurse Manager. The role plans, directs and evaluates the overall clinical care and functions of the oncology office, overseeing nurses, medical assistants, lab and pharmacy technicians, and directing, organizing and assigning work to the clinical team.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain knowledge of oncology nursing, clinical operations and clinical trials, and act as a provider liaison with the Office Manager to ensure patient safety and continuity of care
• Oversee chemotherapy treatments, drug preparation and admixture, and the ordering and refrigeration of medications and supplies
• Complete incident reports, adverse event reports, daily variance reports, and oversee DME, insurance, FMLA and disability forms
• Train, schedule, evaluate and coach staff, including hiring, orientation and performance reviews
• Teach patient education classes, coordinate clinical activities and ensure staff follow job breakdown instructions (JBIs)
• Ensure compliance with policies and procedures, protect patient and employee confidentiality, and handle disciplinary actions
• Communicate clinical policy and regulatory changes to the team and stay current on oncology updates

Required profile

• Unencumbered RN license in the state of employment or multi-state licensure
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing
• Oncology Nurse certification (OCN) required
• Valid state driver's license and compliance with the company driver safety and motor vehicle records check policy
• Five years of healthcare experience in a clinic or hospital setting; three years of management experience preferred
