About the role
The Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities is seeking a Clinical Investigations Manager to lead investigation teams in Atlanta. This position oversees daily investigative activities, ensures compliance with state regulations, and supports a mission to improve the health and safety of Georgia residents.
Key responsibilities
- Guide day‑to‑day activities of investigation teams to meet established performance metrics.
- Supervise investigators and team leads, providing instruction, case supervision, and resource development.
- Observe, review, and analyze processes to identify inefficiencies and recommend improvements.
- Review written reports for accuracy, clarity, and thoroughness, ensuring conclusions are evidence‑based.
- Resolve investigation challenges by collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.
- Build and maintain team collaboration in a hybrid work environment, including 10% statewide travel.
- Train new staff through one‑on‑one sessions and shadowing.
- Participate in project development, management initiatives, and business process improvements.
- Provide investigative support to external regulatory and enforcement agencies.
- Coordinate onsite, unannounced visits to provider locations and ensure compliance.
Required profile
- Professional licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Behavioral Health Clinician.
- Proven experience supervising investigative or clinical teams.
- Strong analytical skills to assess processes and identify improvement opportunities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication for report preparation and stakeholder interaction.
- Ability to travel statewide for investigations and collaborative meetings.
