Clinical Geneticist – Pediatrics Physician

About the role

Ochsner Children’s Hospital is seeking a board‑certified or board‑eligible Clinical Geneticist to join its Section of Medical Genetics within the Department of Pediatrics. The physician will provide expert evaluation, diagnosis and ongoing care for children with a broad range of genetic conditions and will collaborate closely with existing geneticists, counselors and nursing staff.

Key responsibilities

• Provide inpatient and outpatient consultative care for children with known or suspected genetic disorders, partnering with medical and surgical colleagues in multidisciplinary programs.
• Teach medical students, residents and allied‑health learners, and engage in clinical and translational research opportunities.
• Collaborate with institutional stakeholders to advance pediatric precision‑medicine initiatives and contribute to program development.

Required profile

• Board‑certified or board‑eligible Clinical Geneticist with expertise in evaluating and managing diverse genetic disorders, including congenital anomalies, heart disease, chromosomal disorders, autism, mitochondrial disease and cancer.
• Experience working in a multidisciplinary pediatric environment and ability to contribute to teaching and research activities.
