Clinical Business Operations Representative – Sleep Center

About the role

The University of Miami, Bascom Palmer Eye Institute is seeking a full‑time Clinical Business Operations Representative to support the Sleep Center. The role focuses on efficient patient‑facing operations, from scheduling to coordination of sleep studies and related services.

Key responsibilities

• Manage pre‑ and post‑patient care expectations, obtaining and reviewing demographic, insurance, and referral information.
• Answer multiple telephone lines, triage calls, document messages, and greet visitors, ensuring professional communication.
• Schedule, reschedule, and cancel sleep study appointments, home sleep apnea testing, and related services.
• Coordinate patient preparation instructions, device pickup/return, and provide standardized educational materials.
• Assist with prescription and durable medical equipment requests, routing them to appropriate clinical staff and updating patients.
• Collaborate with physicians, technologists, insurance teams, and DME providers to resolve scheduling and care‑coordination issues.
• Document all patient communications, scheduling activity, and follow‑up actions in electronic systems.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or equivalent; relevant experience, certification, or license acceptable.
• No prior experience required; ability to work cooperatively and maintain confidentiality.
