Clinic Nurse (RN) – Outpatient OBGYN

About the role

The Clinic Nurse (RN) provides professional nursing services to patients in an outpatient OBGYN setting, delivering assessments, education, and direct care to enhance the patient experience.

Key responsibilities

• Perform nursing assessments, health advice, and phone triage for outpatient patients.
• Evaluate patient symptoms, determine urgency, and guide next steps in care.
• Administer medications, collect specimens, and conduct nursing procedures within scope of practice.
• Document all nursing services accurately and collaborate with the health‑care team.
• Ensure compliance with California Nurse Practice Act and other regulatory standards.
• Facilitate appropriate utilization of health‑care resources and address ethical or legal issues as needed.

Required profile

• Successful completion of an accredited nursing program.
• Current California RN license in good standing.
• Current BLS certification.
• At least one year of clinical nursing experience, preferably in ambulatory care.
• Basic keyboarding skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel).
• Knowledge of registration and order entry systems.
• Experience with patient scheduling, insurance verification, and authorization processes.
