Claims Specialist or Manager – Commercial Insurance

About the role

An established independent insurance agency is seeking a seasoned Claims Specialist or Claims Manager to strengthen its commercial claims capability. The role can flex based on the selected candidate: a manager‑level hire may lead a small claims team, while a strong senior individual contributor can be considered for a specialist‑level position.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and guide commercial insurance claims through clear communication, sound judgment, and consistent follow‑through.
• Serve as a trusted point of contact for clients, carriers, producers, and internal account teams.
• Advocate for clients and help move claims toward effective resolution.
• At the manager level, provide leadership and oversight for a small claims team.
• Contribute to a highly service‑oriented, relationship‑driven agency environment.

Required profile

• Significant commercial claims experience.
• Five or more years of experience preferred for Claims Specialist candidates.
• Prior claims‑team or department leadership strongly preferred for Claims Manager candidates.
• Carrier‑side claims experience is highly valued; agency‑side backgrounds are also welcome.
• Strong communication, client‑service, and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Insurance licensing is helpful but not required.
