About the role
This entry‑level position supports the investigation, review, planning and design of engineering projects within the Bureau of Operations of the Illinois Department of Transportation.
Key responsibilities
- Assist with Roadway Designation Resolution requests for the traffic engineering program.
- Support statewide roadside maintenance initiatives, including vegetation management and monarch conservation research.
- Summarize winter maintenance reports covering snow removal, de‑icing technologies and related data using Microsoft Office and Operations Asset Management (OAM) tools.
- Assist the Weight Enforcement Engineer with weight‑enforcement program activities.
- Perform duties in compliance with departmental safety rules and equitable treatment policies.
Required profile
- Must be authorized to work in the United States on a full‑time basis.
- Bilingual skills are welcome.
