Civil Construction Superintendent

About the role

David Nice Builders is seeking an experienced Civil Superintendent to lead site operations for our commercial construction projects. This hands‑on field leadership role oversees all civil site work—including earthwork, grading, underground utilities, and foundation preparation—to ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee site preparation activities such as grading, excavation, soil stabilization, compaction, and foundation work.
• Manage installation of underground utilities (water, sewer, stormwater, electrical) and coordinate inspections.
• Read and interpret civil/site plans, specifications, and contract documents, identifying potential issues early.
• Lead and supervise field crews and subcontractors to ensure safe, efficient, high‑quality execution.
• Maintain project schedule, update progress, and help meet milestone dates.
• Enforce OSHA safety standards, conduct daily safety meetings, and ensure PPE compliance.
• Track daily documentation, photos, as‑builts, timesheets, and progress reports using Procore or Trimble.
• Monitor job costs, assist with change orders, and help deliver projects within budget.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in civil construction, specifically earthwork, utilities, and foundation preparation.
• Proven ability to manage field teams and subcontractors on commercial projects.
• Strong ability to read and interpret civil/site plans, blueprints, and specifications.
• OSHA 30‑Hour Construction Certification (required).
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
