Child Welfare Services Case Manager Supervisor

About the role

The Georgia Department of Human Services is seeking a Child Welfare Services Case Manager Supervisor to lead a team of case managers in the Division of Family & Children Services. This position reports to a Child Welfare Services Administrator and is based in Jackson, Butts County.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and plan work of assigned staff, serving as a job expert and resource.
• Conduct home‑visit evaluations, coordinate out‑of‑home placements, and monitor in‑home interventions.
• Develop case plans, compile records, prepare reports, and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
• Initiate legal processes for guardianship, protective services, placement, and adoption.
• Review and approve casework performed by staff, making safety assessments and responding according to protocol.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., social science, psychology, child development, public health, nursing).
• At least three years of case management experience or one year at a lower‑level Child Welfare Services Case Manager position.
• Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and ability to travel statewide.
• Ability to pass background checks, drug screening, and education verification.

Required skills

• Knowledge of child welfare regulations, state and federal laws.
• Experience conducting investigations, home evaluations, and coordinating services.
