Child Development Specialist - Healthy Steps

About the role

The University of Miami/UHealth Department of Pediatrics is seeking a full‑time Child Development Specialist to work in a pediatric clinic, providing developmental assessments, therapy, and coaching for children ages 0‑3 and their families.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct evaluations, create reports, set goals, and deliver direct therapy and consultation services for children with developmental needs.
• Provide developmental guidance and parenting coaching to parents and caregivers, including virtual follow‑up calls.
• Screen for developmental delays, parenting stress, home safety, and maternal mental health on a regular basis.
• Maintain confidential communication with families and coordinate referrals to additional services as needed.
• Enter patient data promptly into computer systems and ensure compliance with licensing regulations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• Minimum two years of relevant experience working with children, families, or in a pediatric setting.
• Strong learning agility, teamwork, and communication skills.
• Proficiency with office software and relevant computer applications.
