Child Care Consultant – North East Region

About the role

The Georgia Department of Early Care and Learning seeks a CCS Child Care Consultant to serve the North East Region, covering Banks, Clarke, Elbert, Franklin, Hart, Madison, Oconee, and Oglethorpe counties. This field‑based position involves traveling statewide to ensure child‑care facilities comply with licensing rules and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Review, monitor, and enforce compliance with state child‑care licensing regulations and quality indicators.
• Provide technical assistance and professional consultation to licensed facilities and applicants to improve program operations and staff development.
• Conduct preliminary fire safety and environmental health inspections and incorporate findings into licensing reports.
• Identify rule violations, issue citations, and set compliance deadlines.
• Maintain regulatory supervision of both private and government‑operated facilities.

Required profile

• High school diploma/GED plus two years of related experience (minimum).
• Valid Georgia driver’s license and ability to travel extensively.
• Preference for a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Early Childhood Education plus two years of professional experience.
• Strong record‑keeping, oral and written communication abilities.
