Chief Operating Officer – Academic Medical Center

About the role

This job assumes responsibility for strategic, long‑term planning, direction and overall accountability for division‑wide functions. It communicates and interprets organizational and departmental mission goals, providing leadership in planning, implementation and evaluation across all areas of responsibility.

Key responsibilities

• Implements and leads performance improvement measures.
• Develops personnel and workforce.
• Ensures operational profitability by managing departments fiscally and using resources efficiently.
• Supports overall strategic goals and identifies growth opportunities.
• Ensures infrastructure complies with accreditation, regulatory requirements and functional needs.
• Participates in self‑development activities and encourages staff to meet the organization’s mission and goals.
• Performs other duties as assigned and complies with all policies and standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare, Business Administration or a related field.
• Minimum 10 years of experience managing complex hospital and patient‑care delivery operations.
• Strong organizational and time‑management abilities.
• Demonstrated good judgement and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent leadership capabilities.
