Chemical Loader Internship – Freeport, TX

About the role

Join BASF’s Freeport site as a Chemical Loader Intern and gain hands‑on experience in loading and unloading raw materials and finished goods. You will work on a shift schedule, supporting multiple transportation modes while developing both technical and professional skills.

Key responsibilities

• Unload inbound raw materials and load outbound finished goods using trucks, rail, marine vessels, totes, drums, etc.
• Perform rail‑switching activities, including operating a railcar mover, acting as groundman, operating rail switches, and serving as crossing guard.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues before maintenance involvement and communicate maintenance needs.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED.
• Authorized to work in the U.S. without restrictions.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Pass BASF pre‑employment assessment.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Strong work ethic.
