Chaplain – Bayou Region (PRN)

About the role

The Chaplain provides spiritual care to patients, families, staff, and visitors throughout the Bayou Region, responding to emergent calls, codes, and end‑of‑life situations. This PRN position supports the interdisciplinary team by offering comfort, guidance, and religious resources in a culturally diverse environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide presence, comfort, and spiritual support during crises, codes, and deaths, as well as routine visits on assigned units.
• Facilitate decedent care administrative tasks with families and staff following patient deaths.
• Maintain collaborative relationships with the interdisciplinary and spiritual care teams.

Required profile

• 1 unit of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) from ACPE or ICPT, or 5 years of healthcare chaplaincy experience.
• At least 1 year of spiritual caregiving experience in an interfaith, culturally diverse setting.
• Ordination, commission, or ecclesiastical endorsement preferred.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Windows‑style applications and keyboard for data entry.
• Strong computer and data‑entry skills for retrieving and recording information.
