About the role

The Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) provides anesthesia services to patients undergoing surgical, obstetrical, and other pain‑producing procedures under physician supervision. The position works within a collaborative model that includes residents, fellows, attendings, and other staff caring for patients.

Key responsibilities

• Document patient procedures, incidents, and anesthesia administration.
• Assess patients before, during, and after anesthesia to ensure safety.
• Act as a liaison among surgeons, anesthesiologists, co‑workers, patients, and families.
• Participate in department quality‑assurance initiatives and professional development activities.
• Adapt communication style to respect patient privacy and cultural needs.
• Maintain knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations affecting anesthesia practice.

Required profile

• Master’s degree from an AANA‑accredited nurse‑anesthesia program.
• Active APRN license in the state of practice and certification through the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, holidays, and on‑call availability.
